Entrando non ci hanno nemmeno considerato, il titolare (che come abbiamo capito potrebbe essere lo stesso) nemmeno considerato che eravamo esistenti. Un cameriere ci guardava e nonostante facessimo segnale con la mano non ci considerava nemmeno per una bottiglia d'acqua; portando 4 primi, uno di questi primi sembrava con un prodotto acido come se f...

Entrando non ci hanno nemmeno considerato, il titolare (che come abbiamo capito potrebbe essere lo stesso) nemmeno considerato che eravamo esistenti. Un cameriere ci guardava e nonostante facessimo segnale con la mano non ci considerava nemmeno per una bottiglia d'acqua; portando 4 primi, uno di questi primi sembrava con un prodotto acido come se fosse cascato qualcosa dal piatto uscendo dalla cucina. Abbiamo chiesto cortesemente di cambiare il piatto e con tanta arroganza rispose che era impossibile e il cameriere da dietro che rideva come per presa in giro nei nostri confronti; e il titolare ovviamente dava ragione al cameriere. Dopo aver finito, e dopo aver ricevuto questa umiliazione, abbiamo pagato e siamo usciti dopo essere stati trattati come pezze.

We had lunch at Borgo Nuovo before our Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica tours, and it turned out to be one of the best dining decisions of our trip! While walking past many restaurants near the Vatican, this one caught our eye—and we’re so glad we stopped. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. They were able to seat our large group of 12 people (8 adults, 4 kids) without a reservation, and somehow managed to bring all our meals out at the same time—even though we all ordered different dishes! We tried a variety of items—fried calamari, seafood pasta, buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes, and pizzas—and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The adults also enjoyed Aperol Spritz (some of the best we had in Rome) and cold beer—something that’s surprisingly hard to find in Italy! Another highlight: immaculate washrooms, which says a lot about the pride they take in maintaining their space. That level of cleanliness and professionalism really stood out. This is an excellent spot for both families and groups of adults looking for authentic, high-quality Italian food just steps from the Vatican. We visited Rome again the following week, tried another place elsewhere—and immediately wished we had come back to Borgo Nuovo. Highly recommended!

We came out of St. Peter’s Basilica, ready to eat, and we had people trying to pull us into their restaurants but then we saw this beautifully traditional place with a well dressed waiter smiling and softly spoken, not in the least pushy and decided this was the place. We had a range of starters, bruschetta, onion rings, croquettes, all freshly made and absolutely delicious, next we enjoyed steak, spaghetti bolognese, cannelloni and pizza, all the food arrived really quickly, nice and hot and seasoned to perfection! I cannot remember the last time we had 3 courses anywhere but this place was too good and we wanted it to last! So we had chocolate cake which according to my two teenage boys was the best they had ever had, I ordered panna cotta and it was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was perfect. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Amazing gluten free selection pizza and pasta fresh and great fast service. Polite waitstaff. Indoor and outdoor seating away from the main crowd on a quieter street. There wasnt many people there but this was a gem authentic Italian restaurant with very reasonable pricing. Food came out in less than 10 minutes, I would 100% come back again!

Il gerente e il personale sono molto gentili. La cucina è ottima come pure il servizio. Si trova a 200 metri dalla basilica di San Pietro. Siamo stati sia pranzo che a cena. Sono capitata per caso in questo bellissimo ristorante e devo dire che è stata una bellissima sorpresa. L'ambiente è veramente bello, elegante, accogliente. la cordialità impeccabile, Si mangia molto bene, si sente che i prodotti sono freschi. Siamo stati in famiglia e siamo usciti veramente molto soddisfatti, i bimbi hanno mangiato la pizza e noi cucina genuina. Ottimo!
