Siamo stati a pranzo con amici in questo posto,piccolo,intimo e curato, pranzato benissimo,porzioni super abbondanti, cibi cucinati veramente bene, la signora che serviva bella grintosa e simpatica,il cuoco che suppongo sia il titolare, umile e un ottimo padrone di casa, pulizia eccellente! This was most bizarre and unforgettable culinary experience. We arrived in this little cafe-looking place around 5:30pm, an uncommon hour to eat dinner in Italy, as most restaurants close for siesta until 7 or 7:30pm. Our party of 6 were the only guests, and the place was run by one guy, who, after an inquiry about the menus told us there aren’t any, and that he’d come and tell us how this works. When he did, he (assuming we were Americans) simply said: “In America, there’s democracy. In Italy, we have Mussolini”. He would be deciding what we eat, and would keep bringing us food until he thought we’d had enough. And that’s what he did. The first course was a large bowl of fresh greens sprinkled with parmesan and rotisserie chicken, dressing tactfully separated, continuing to a plate of cheesy baked polenta and then a generous dish of creamy gnocchi with bacon. It felt like we were visiting an Italian friend in his home— A slightly rude old friend who never made the slightest attempt to make us feel welcome apart from feeding us, but the quality and quantity of the food said it all, and was more than enough to make us feel welcome. When our new eccentric friend (though the friendship may have been one-sided) presented a gigantic steaming skillet full of pasta and fresh mussels smothered in herbs, oils and sauces of incredible flavors, I’m pretty sure we all thought that was the grand finale. Hunger was long gone, and it was agreed that this had been a successful restaurant choice. Only that wasn’t even close to the end. Next came a bowlful of bouillabaisse stew packed with a versatile variety of fresh seafood in impressive red sauce, that would have been enough to feed six on it’s own. Then a couple servings of fresh focaccia. At this point we began to worry about very likely food waste, and hinted that this is probably enough. However, chef reminded us with a serious face that he is the boss. Nobody was going to argue any further. Deaf to our pleads to stop, he kept coming with another two servings of tuna tartare and a dish of baked potatoes, and when it was all finally there, the most welcome sight of the true grand finale were a thick pile of to-go boxes. However stuffed we thought we were, we weren’t going be let to leave without espresso and dessert: little cups of the best panna cotta I’ve ever tasted, and a couple slices of chocolate apple cake. All in all, our table was served a total of eight courses, each one big enough to be shared between six, plus dessert. The cost? 15€ each. The most bizarre part was that despite of him actually telling us at one point “I don’t care about you. I only care about your money”, combined with a generally somewhat hostile attitude, the overall experience was so incredible that we were definitely going to leave a hefty tip. Only he wouldn’t accept it. That was his price and there wasn’t going to be any arguing about it either. When the business was concluded, and he learned that we in fact weren’t Americans (one Finn and five Germans), he got a bit more chatty and it was revealed that despite the unusual time for dinner, we had lucked out because he was on the right mood and was already working in the kitchen. I may have even heard a sentence or two exchanged in German. Out of all the many very memorable eating experiences in the last days of our Italy vacation, that was the one that left me utterly inspired. In most cases, a good time at any restaurant is a combination of the decor, music, friendly atmosphere. But this time, there was a complete lack of pretentiousness in all of that. More than anything, this dinner was a reminder to me about the beauty and power of good food in itself when there is such a raw passion for it. Maybe there is something to dictatorship after all…

Pranzo con la famglia e con amici per festeggiare un compleanno. Menù con tre primi e tre secondi e contorni a scelta. Ottimo cibo molto abbondante, varietà e attenzione verso il cliente. Sono vegetariana e il cuoco ha preparato piatti speciali senza carne e senza pesce solo per me (piatti che non sono nel menù a prezzo fisso). Bellissimo momento...

Bellissimo momento di incontro con famigliari e amici, cibi bel cucinati, ottima qualità e prezzo davvero super accessibile: solo 13 euro a pranzo, anche il sabato. Consigliatissimo. Prenotare.

Ho ordinato una pasta alla messicana e mi è stato servito un ottimo primo piatto e per di più abbondante. Sono appena stato a pranzo per un menù del gg a 13€. Il locale mi era stato segnalato da amici che l’hanno frequentato precedentemente. Ho ordinato una pasta alla messicana e mi è stato servito un ottimo primo piatto e per di più abbondante. Guardandomi in giro ho visto arrivare piatti belli da vedere a destra e a manca (e sicuramente buoni visto il gradimento dei commensali) e sempre abbondanti. Al momento di servire a me il secondo (cotoletta con patate) direttamente dal cuoco dico a lui… MA SONO OTTIMI PIATTI E ABBONDANTI!!! Apriti cielo… ad alta voce e in modo per nulla educato di fronte a tutti i commensali (il locale era pieno) mi manda a chissà quale paese e non ho capito se fosse per aver menzionato l’ottimo piatto o per aver menzionato l’abbondanza. In sostanza, andateci che vale la pena, ma non parlate di gusti e quantità. Io personalmente non ci andrò più anche se il cuoco nella sua logica ne sarà ben felice.

Bisogna telefonare e specificare che si vuole mangiare pesce …. Siamo stati precedentemente a cena e bastava che sceglievi carne o pesce al momento e poi lui faceva piatti abbondanti a libera fantasia. Decidiamo con amiche di ritornare e prenoto al telefonino , arrivati e ci presenta un foglio 3 primi e 3 secondi a scelta, chiediamo la spiegazione...

Siamo stati precedentemente a cena e bastava che sceglievi carne o pesce al momento e poi lui faceva piatti abbondanti a libera fantasia. Decidiamo con amiche di ritornare e prenoto al telefonino , arrivati e ci presenta un foglio 3 primi e 3 secondi a scelta, chiediamo la spiegazione e la risposta e’ stata e’ da 1 mese che bisogna specificare quando si prenota che si vuole mangiare pesce. 3 primi a scelta spaghetti alle cozze gnocchi e melanzane alla parmigiana .. Scegliamo gli spaghetti con le cozze pochi spaghetti tant’è cozze per fare volume insipido . Scegliamo i secondi a scelta pesce spada alla mediterranea tagliata stracotto… Scegliamo pesce alla mediterranea … non lo abbiamo mangiato piatto asciutto insapore … Demoralizzate prendiamo 2 caffè . Momento di pagare totale € 94,00 no ha chiesto se eravamo soddisfatte ma la cosa più allibita non ha fatto neanche uno sconto visto che 4 pesce spada sono stati immangiabili . Abbiamo pagato. Una serata insoddisfacente .

Un'ottima cucina con piatti squisiti e molto abbondanti. Buona la possibilità di portare a casa una parte delle porzioni che fai fatica a finire: così il giorno dopo di gusti ancora i buoni piatti. Un grande complimento al cuoco: continua così!

Sono andata venerdì sera con un ex collega Ne aveva parlato bene... effettivamente ho mangiato un ottima pasta all'astice. Il menù lo abbiamo fatto scegliere al cuoco. Un ottimo servizio il proprietario è gentilissimo. Da provare
