During our recent trip to Italy, one of the most memorable dining experiences we had was at L'Osteria di Giovanni in Florence. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed by the entire staff, and it was lovely to be checked on by both our server and the owners throughout the evening. We appreciated being seated in a room that had a perfect mix of local Italian diners and visitors from other countries, which added to the authentic and inviting atmosphere. The dining experience was truly exceptional, starting with the excellent wine list that offered a fantastic selection. For our meal, we began with the stuffed zucchini flowers, which were absolutely fantastic. The freshness of the ingredients was apparent in every bite, a theme that continued with our main course: a perfectly cooked, whole bronzino that was incredibly fresh and flavorful. To finish, we were served what can only be described as the best lemon cake I have ever tasted. This was easily one of our favorite restaurants of the entire trip, and we will certainly make it a point to return on our next visit to Italy. The generosity of the owners was truly touching; they even gave us a bag of cantucci to take home with us. Our only regret is that we unfortunately forgot it and left it on the table.

Atmosfera autentica, personale gentile e attento. Pur non avendo prenotato il tavolo, abbiamo aspettato solo cinque minuti. Nell’attesa ci hanno offerto due bicchieri di prosecco, a fine pasto sorbetto e cantucci, e durante delle buonissime palline di pasta fritte (di cui non ricordo il nome).

Nous avons découvert cette Osteria par hasard et sommes repartis conquis. Un accueil chaleureux, une cuisine excellente et gourmande avec de petites attentions offertes tout au long du repas. On se sent bien dans ce restaurant !

Una perla della cucina toscana, in un atmosfera d'epoca, siete accolti con la tipica accoglienza toscana con un arcobaleno di pietanze e sapori autentici che vi fanno ubriacare in questo splendido ristorante. L'immancabile fiorentina è una sublimità per il palato, carta dei vini incommensurabile, e i cantucci fatti da loro ! insomma una esperienza culinarie che sicuramente rifarò al mio prossimo passaggio a Firenze

Had dinner last night and it was very good! Loved the fried bread appetizer they give you upon seating. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I had the mushroom pasta and the sea bass for dinner. Both were great and the price was fair for the quality. Highly recommend!

An excellent restaurant in Florence. We were wowed by the food, service and ambiance. It was a fitting Italian restaurant to visit on our last night in Europe. The bolognese was delicious. But—the lemon cake was spectacular! I highly recommend this place!

This was a recommendation from our tour guide. Amazing decades old family restaurant. Owner and staff were amazing, the food incredible. We absolutely loved every dish. Highly recommend this restaurant, book to avoid disappointment.

What a great place! Food was unbelievably good starting with goose carpaccio (!) and the freshest asparagus and zucchini blossoms as recommended by our waiter, because they were in season. Steak florentine- yes, as I read in a guidebook, it was “legendary”. My daughter said the lemon cake transported her. Vin santo, wine, limoncello, of course. Our table was by the bar, very lively and fun, waitstaff were funny and genial, excellent service. Not only all this but they let us stuff our luggage into a side room because our train was so late. Really friendly, helpful people. We felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of. Can’t recommend it enough.

Great Atmosphere, great food, reasonable prices. The food was really excellent. We had the Florentine steak, which we loved! Additionally, we had a chicken dish and a veal dish, which were also excellent. Wine, dessert, and extras were fantastic. You will not be disappointed.

Very Good? -- Not enough. -- Seriously EXCELLENT! Great restaurant. -- authentic and tasty food, along with excellent service. We had stuffed zucchini flower as starter, followed by a generous portion of filet mignon -- perfectly cooked (medium rare) -- incredibly enjoyable.

One of the best meals we had in Italy. Every pasta was delicious and perfect, the bistecca fiorentina was cooked perfectly, dessert was good. And don't forget the fried dough - hard to not keep eating it! Service was efficient and friendly as well. Make a reservation, as they get packed. Highly recommended.

We had a excellent meal with friends. Starters pasta courses were lovely. Dishes that really stood out were, fava bean salad, seafood linguine, baby pork and lemon cake was excellent. Our waiter was brilliant really attentive and explained all the menu to us. We would definitely come back. Super

Fantastica osteria consigliataci da dei local…Abbiamo cenato in questa splendida osteria toscana e ci siamo sentiti accolti come a casa, ma con il gusto e la qualità di una cucina di altissimo livello! Dall’antipasto tipico toscano, ricco di sapori genuini, ai primi piatti da sogno: i pici al sugo e le pappardelle al ragù di anatra erano perfetti, con pasta fresca e condimenti saporiti e bilanciati.Ad accompagnare il tutto, un Chianti corposo e profumato che ha esaltato ogni piatto. I dolci sono stati una vera coccola: zuccotto, torta di mele, torta al limone con gelato artigianale… uno più buono dell’altro! E come se non bastasse, ci hanno offerto cantucci con vin santo, chiudendo la cena con un tocco dolce e tradizionale.Un ringraziamento speciale alla proprietaria, meravigliosa, attenta e sorridente, e a tutto lo staff cordiale e professionale. Un luogo autentico dove la tradizione si unisce all’accoglienza con il cuore. Torneremo sicuramente!

Locale molto carino magari il tavolo assegnato può essere più o meno posizionato bene di un altro ma nel complesso si sta bene, camerieri molto cortesi , rapporto qualità prezzo buono, magari manca un filo di qualità per non aver dato di più ma rimane molto positivo il giudizio complessivo
